❤️ FROM THE BREEDER'S DIARY
LUANDA 2026 – Two Litters, 27 Puppies, and a Year We'll Never Forget...
Today, as I finally send off the very last export pedigree, I feel as though one of the most extraordinary — and exhausting — chapters of our breeding journey is slowly coming to an end. The tiredness hasn't quite left me yet. Not even close, actually! 😅 But what remains is an overwhelming sense of gratitude, happiness, a heart full of unforgettable memories... and perhaps a little sadness too. ❤️
𝗦𝗼, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻?
Our original plan for 2026 was a spring litter with our beloved Rainy. Since she has always been very regular with her seasons, we knew we would be planning a mating in early February. And everything went exactly as expected — 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.
Our Daisy wasn't supposed to come into season for another two months, so we had happily entered her for Crufts 2026 in Birmingham, England.
𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹... 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘆, 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁-𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘀! 😅 As if everything was actually going to happen exactly the way YOU had planned it! 😂
Daisy clearly had plans of her own and decided to come into season two whole months earlier than expected! Suddenly, we were facing a rather serious question: 𝗪𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?
It wasn't entirely unfamiliar territory. Back in the winter of 2010–2011, we had already raised 𝟮𝟭 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, sired by the Canadian male Thorbnerry Akala, whom I had brought all the way from Canada that autumn to mate our Lexi.
Yes, originally, 𝗟𝗲𝘅𝗶 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗱! But then, apparently, every four-legged girl in our house decided it was time to come into season! 😂 So we ended up breeding our very special liver-nosed Ani as well.
Wonderful new bloodlines, exciting breeding plans, everything seemed perfect...
Our first litter arrived on 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲, 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟬, followed by the second litter on 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟭. Raising 21 puppies throughout the cold winter months of January and February was quite an experience! And after surviving that adventure, we made ourselves a promise:
𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀! 😂😂
And just think... we were 15 years younger back then! 😂
Spring and summer litters are certainly a little easier to manage, especially when it comes to outdoor activities and socialisation. And after all these years, I had gained an enormous amount of experience through everything that life as a breeder had taught me. But the truth is, no matter how experienced you are, breeding never becomes completely easy. And raising two litters almost simultaneously is a huge undertaking.
I had been considering Draco for Daisy for quite some time. He was already nine years old, carried interesting Canadian and American bloodlines, and had only sired two litters before. His semen analysis had shown good results. I also had a reason to believe we might be looking at a smaller litter, based on our previous experience in 2018 with our I litter. Back then, we bred our lovely liver-nosed girl Yman to a handsome eight-year-old male, and only three puppies were born.
So, perhaps Daisy would have a smaller litter too — maybe six or seven puppies at most? Surely that wouldn't be too difficult to manage alongside Rainy's litter?
𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹... 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝘆! 😅
On 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘆'𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗼. About a month later, both pregnancies were confirmed. We immediately started finishing as much of our regular work as possible, organising everything we would need and preparing ourselves for the demanding weeks ahead. We knew it wouldn't be easy.
𝗪𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗡𝗢 𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗔 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲!
🐾 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟱 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀!
Yes, 𝗙𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗡!!! 🙂🙃😂 An all-time record for our kennel! All strong, healthy, and ready to take on the world. ❤️ Absolutely wonderful! I think we were thanking every star in the sky that day!
For the next 14 days and nights, our whole family took turns staying beside the whelping box. Almost constant supervision, very little sleep, and the enormous responsibility of caring for fifteen tiny lives. As the puppies grew stronger, gained weight beautifully, and continued to thrive, we finally began to think that perhaps we might get a little more sleep.
But Daisy's due date was fast approaching...
🐾 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝘀𝘆 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟮 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀!
𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗘?! 😳 𝗢𝗠𝗚!!! 🙂🙃😂 We honestly couldn't believe it! And once again, beautiful, strong, healthy puppies with excellent birth weights!
And just like that, we suddenly had 𝟮𝟳 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟵 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁!
Normally, after the first two weeks with a newborn litter, you can finally start catching up on a little sleep. But not us! We were about to do it all over again! 😂 Another 14 sleepless nights followed, this time beside Daisy and her babies, while Rainy's fifteen little explorers were already growing rapidly and demanding more space, more attention, and even more care.
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻... 🤠🤠
Anyone familiar with our breeding philosophy at LUANDA knows that, for me, raising puppies has never been simply about feeding them, cleaning up after them, and waiting for their new owners to collect them.
𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲.
High-quality, varied nutrition, nutritional supplements, veterinary care, impeccable hygiene, daily individual attention, and above all, thoughtful and extensive early socialisation. Our puppies grow up surrounded by our family, experiencing everyday household sounds, human interaction, gentle handling, different surfaces, objects, environments, and new situations.
They gradually become familiar with wearing a collar, develop the foundations of good toilet habits, experience car journeys, and learn to explore the world with natural curiosity and confidence. All of this is introduced gradually, always according to their age, individual development, and abilities.
My goal is to ensure that every puppy leaving LUANDA is as well prepared as possible for life with their new family — ready to adapt to unfamiliar surroundings and cope confidently with the everyday experiences that life will bring.
And one of my greatest rewards came from the wonderful messages we received from their new owners. They told us how beautifully their little LUANDA puppies were settling in, how confidently they were exploring their new surroundings, happily wagging their tails, and taking new experiences in their stride.
𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀. ❤️
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
An equally important part of responsible breeding, for me, is finding the right family for every puppy. And believe me, this involves far more than someone sending an enquiry, choosing a puppy, and coming to collect it.
Throughout this period, 𝗜 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 — through phone calls, short and long messages, emails, WhatsApp conversations, and countless other exchanges. I tried to give everyone my time, answer their questions, learn about their expectations, their experience with dogs, and the kind of life they could offer one of our puppies.
And I must mention how happy every future owner was whenever I managed to send them new photographs or a little video of their puppy! ❤️
I would especially like to thank all those wonderful, patient families who had to wait longer for their puppies to be ready for export. Thank you for your patience and understanding, for appreciating just how incredibly busy life had become at our home, and for being so happy with every little video or photograph I managed to send you.
Many of you are breeders yourselves, so you knew exactly what kind of enormous undertaking we were facing. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲. ❤️🙏
Because for me, it isn't simply about finding someone who wants a puppy — or someone whose only question is, 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘺?
𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. Every puppy has its own personality, temperament, energy level, and potential. Some are more confident and outgoing, others a little more thoughtful or sensitive. I want to find families whose lifestyle, expectations, and experience suit each puppy's individual character.
And, of course, I want our puppies to go to people who truly understand their needs, appreciate their individuality, and are prepared to give them not only love and proper care, but also their time, patience, appropriate training, and guidance throughout their lives.
Then there were the countless hours spent photographing and filming our puppies, selecting and organising pictures and videos, and sharing regular updates with their future owners. I wanted their new families to be part of the journey — to watch their puppies grow, develop, play, and discover the world.
What may look like a few lovely photographs or a short puppy video can actually represent hours of work. And when you're raising 27 puppies... well, you can imagine! 😅
As LUANDA puppies attract interest from many countries around the world, there was also an enormous amount of paperwork, communication, and organisation involved. Checking import requirements for different countries, arranging veterinary documentation, health certificates, export pedigrees, transport arrangements, and making sure every puppy could travel safely to its new family.
Some exports were relatively straightforward. Others required endless emails, phone calls, additional arrangements, and creative solutions to unexpected complications. Some of our new owners went to extraordinary lengths to bring their LUANDA puppy home, travelling incredible distances and overcoming all kinds of logistical challenges.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲. ❤️
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻... 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱! ☀️
As the holiday season began, enquiries naturally slowed down. People were travelling, enjoying their summer holidays, and making plans for later in the year. It gradually became clear that some of our puppies would be staying with us much longer than originally expected.
𝗦𝗼... 𝗡𝗢 𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗬 – 𝗡𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧! 😅☀️
While everyone else seemed to be enjoying their summer break, our daily puppy programme continued at full speed. Daily walks, little adventures, swimming with the puppies, new experiences, further socialisation, and veterinary check-ups.
Before our eyes, those tiny puppies were growing into beautiful young Rhodesian Ridgebacks, becoming more independent, developing their own personalities, and becoming an even bigger part of our everyday family life.
And this summer brought another challenge — extreme heat, with temperatures climbing above 40°C! Keeping our puppies safe and comfortable was, of course, a priority. Air-conditioned spaces became essential so they could rest comfortably during the hottest parts of the day.
Our dog show calendar also had to take a back seat. We managed to attend just 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗲, 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿, but even with such a limited schedule, she made us incredibly proud!
🏆 𝟭× 𝗕𝗢𝗕, 𝟭× 𝗕𝗢𝗦, 𝟯× 𝗖𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗕, 𝟰× 𝗖𝗔𝗖, 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 (𝗖𝗛 𝗛𝗨)!
Not bad for a girl whose family was completely surrounded by puppies! ❤️
And of course, life didn't stop outside the kennel. There was still our business to run, everyday work responsibilities, the household to manage, and our two 14-year-old daughters. They were a tremendous help throughout this entire adventure, although, as perfectly normal teenagers, they also made sure to regularly test the limits of my nervous system! 😂
As for having time for ourselves? That became a distant memory. Most evenings, we were simply grateful to collapse into bed.
And our washing machine — the one we had bought especially for washing all our dog bedding and other dog-related laundry? Well, that poor thing was running approximately 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁! By the end of June, it finally surrendered and went to washing-machine heaven. Honestly, I couldn't even blame it! 😂
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 – 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲 ❤️
At the end of September, the very last beautiful boy from our P litter finally left for his new family.
𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘆. I was especially delighted to welcome back families who already share their lives with a LUANDA Ridgeback and decided to return to us for another.
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔 𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵. ❤️🙏😍
And it was just as heartwarming to welcome new families. Seeing the genuine love in their eyes as they looked at that little innocent soul, and then watching them gently carry their new puppy away in their arms, already so full of love...
𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀! ❤️🙏😍
Other goodbyes, however, were incredibly difficult. 😪 The longer those puppies stayed with us, the deeper they found their way into our hearts. By the final weeks, we found ourselves crying whenever another puppy left. It felt as though a piece of our hearts was being torn away with every goodbye.
We knew they were going to wonderful people, to loving homes where they would be cherished and cared for. But knowing that didn't make saying goodbye any easier. And even now, just remembering those moments still hurts...
These puppies had become part of our everyday lives — our little companions, our daily joy, the ones who had shared an entire summer with us. For some of them, we had spent almost half a year together, caring for them from the very moment they took their first breath. Watching them grow from helpless newborns into wonderful young dogs, each with their own unique personality, created a bond that was incredibly hard to let go of.
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲, 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗼. ❤️😪
𝗦𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀 – 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁?
It demanded an enormous amount of physical and emotional energy. Hundreds upon hundreds of hours of work, sleepless nights, endless responsibilities, worries, and practically every moment of our free time.
And, naturally, a considerable financial investment. From carefully selecting suitable stud dogs, stud fees, travel and accommodation, to veterinary care, premium food, fresh meat, nutritional supplements, and providing air-conditioned facilities during the summer heat. Not to mention the endless supply of cleaning and disinfecting products, laundry detergents, bedding, puppy equipment, office supplies, paperwork, registration documents, and export administration.
There is so much work, responsibility, time, and expense behind every responsibly raised litter that simply cannot be seen in those beautiful puppy photographs.
There were moments when we genuinely reached the limits of our physical and emotional strength. And I have to admit that even now, several weeks after our last puppy left, I can still feel the exhaustion of everything we have been through. Sometimes, just remembering those final goodbyes — especially in September, when some very special little souls left us — is enough to bring tears to my eyes again.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀.
❤️ 𝟮𝟳 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. 𝟮𝟳 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆.
I am also looking towards the future with great hope and excitement. Many of our puppies have promising show, working, or breeding careers ahead of them. I believe in their potential and cannot wait to see what they and their owners will achieve together.
And just as importantly, I am equally proud of those whose greatest achievement will simply be bringing happiness, loyalty, and unconditional love into their families' lives.
𝗔 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 ❤️
First and foremost, I want to thank my husband and our daughters. 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂. ❤️
My heartfelt thanks also go to our wonderful veterinarians 🩺, who supported us throughout this demanding period with their professional care, dedication, and assistance.

Your expertise, kindness, willingness to help, and commitment to the health and wellbeing of our puppies have meant so much to us. I am truly grateful to have been able to rely on you. ❤️🙏
𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱: Thank you for your trust, your patience, your lovely messages and photographs, and most importantly, for the love you give our puppies every single day. ❤️🙏
Looking back, I know we took on an enormous responsibility this year. Perhaps even more than we should have, because there were times when we were pushed right to the very edge of our strength and endurance.
But whenever I see photographs of our happy puppies enjoying their new lives, I know that 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘁.
And although I am still incredibly tired, my heart is filled with gratitude, pride in what we have achieved together, and so much hope for the future.
